Dexgreen Sealing Tape for Repair of Heat Shrink Closures

Dexgreen have developed a versatile sealing tape that can be used for a number of different purposes. Here, we will be looking at how to repair heat shrink closures using the Dexgreen Sealing Tape. To use this versatile product for this application, there are a few simple steps to follow:

1. Clean and dry the area of the heat shrink closure to be repaired, using PF Wet / Dry wipes prior to tape application (P/N 51300176).

2. Apply tape to the closure 60mm below to 60mm above the damaged area. Wrap the closure with a layer of amalgamating tape with a 50% overlap, pressing the tape firmly onto the closure.  Apply a second layer of amalgamating tape in the opposite direction with a 50% overlap, and press the tape firmly onto the closure.

3. Apply two layers of rubber splicing tape number 23 (P/N: 43300348) using a 50% overlap starting and finishing a minimum of 50mm before and after the amalgamating tape.
