This 2RU, LH pivot open Splice/Patch subrack accommodates 72 -SM ribbon optical fibres. It features optical fibre cord management, that maintains the MBR at 30 mm radius throughout. This subrack rear mounts in 19 inch rear rack rails. At the rear of the swing out tray, an assembly of six, individually accessible, splice trays are provided (Part No: TC251S-6AX). Each tray holds 1 x 12 ribbon fibre fusion splice, to a 12 fibre ribbon/pigtail fan - out module. The splice trays are fitted with two plastic protector holder clips. A ribbon splice holder clip (Part No: TC250S-7), and a ribbon/ pigtail fanout module clip (Part No: TC250S-23). Situated along the swing out tray are: 3 angled position patch panels, for 24 simplex SM-A/SC through adaptors. The rear of the swing out tray is slightly raised to provide clearance over the ribbon fibre break-out module, and also for the supplied ribbon fibre transport tubes. At the LHS swing out tray entry, a radius guide and two curved guides are provided to guarantee the MBR for optical fibre cords on entry and exit. A 72 fibre ribbon optical fibre cable is fed to the trays RHS entry securing point; then to the ribbon break-out module. Here the 12 fibre ribbons separate into individual transport tubes that are fed around the rear of the body, through hook and loop ties, to pass around the LHS guiding cylinder, travelling in a smooth, large radius, natural curve, to the splice trays. Along the front face of the swing out tray, tie-off slots are provided for optical fibre cords. At the front of the swing out tray is a label showing patch panel layout. The front edge is non-continuous to allow for probe style instruments to inspect the through adaptors and connectors. The leaving optical fibre cord/s are run directly into the LHS of the HDODF. This 72 fibre, splice/patch subrack is typically used in a HDODF set up to provide FTTX services.
