Line module, standard

This module provides primary surge protection between the Exchange line and Customer cabling. This is achieved using in-module, long life gas arrestors. Protection is provided against lightning energy as well as AC voltages. The module meets Telcordia and ITU standards. Up to 4 x Customer lines can be connected to the module, using gel type IDT connections. The IDT connections are made using an in-built termination system. (No tools are needed). The module also allows for independent testing of both Exchange and Customer cabling. This module can be safely used in severe climatic conditions, and also at the NTD point.

• Tool-less cable terminations for 0.40 mm to 0.64 mm diameter conductors.

• Bridging test terminals on both the Telstra and customer sides of the module.
• RJ11 customer test socket.
• Automatic isolation of customer cabling when the test socket is used.
• 4 x telephone cable connection terminals.
• Standard module for connection of one line.

For a DSL service, a separate centralised filter must be installed or distributed (in-line) filters must be used for connection of telephone devices.
