Cable congestion within Data & Server Racks presents an ongoing dilemma for Network operators. Copper Cabling can occupy much space in High Density cable applications, making it difficult to manage services, restricting airflow and potentially creating a cabling mess.
Many network operators are finding copper cabling congestion within racks to be ever increasing due to the need to increase density within a smaller amount of space or footprint. In general, up to 24 RJ45 ports are able to be configured in a 1RU copper patch panel. Even if half of the rack space is taken up by copper patch panels or 20RU not including cable managers, this means nearly 500 patchcords would need to be routed throughout a network rack.
This amount of patchcords can severely impact the way cables are managed and routed.
Warren and Brown have combated this problem for its customers with the Mini CAT6 Patchcords, which are 36% smaller in diameter then regular CAT6 patchcords.
